The Pharmacy Department is delighted to be able to offer a vacancy for a full time Band 4 Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Stores & Distribution.

Applicants should be highly motivated, hardworking and demonstrate a desire to contribute towards improving and developing our pharmacy services for patients in North East Wales.

Previous experience of working in a supervisory or leadership role would be advantageous. An understanding of warehousing and/or pharmacy working practices and procedures is essential.

Main duties of the job

Core duties to include:-

  • Working under direction of the Senior Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Supervising, providing guidance and direction to the Pharmacy Assistants within the designated area.
  • Supporting the training and development of pharmacy personnel, maintaining quality and standards by contributing to the development and implementation of new services, processes and procedures to deliver services in line with professional, local and national directives.
  • Order assembly.
  • Stock replenishment services to wards and departments.
  • Delivery and dispatch.
  • Stock control and use of the Pharmacy IT System.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English grade C or above
  • NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services
  • Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 3 qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Worked in a stores area of a hospital pharmacy department or equivalent experience
  • Experience of training and mentoring staff.
Desirable criteria
  • Supervisory experience
