The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.
Job overview
Provide strategic and operational leadership for Speech & Language Therapy Services, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality service delivery while maintaining professional, clinical and governance standards.
Lead service development, modernisation and change management, implementing policies and driving improvements that align with Health Board priorities, government objectives and the evolving needs of patients and communities.
Manage resources, budgets and workforce performance, including staff leadership, professional development, financial oversight and ensuring services are delivered efficiently within available resources.
Develop and maintain effective partnerships and collaborative working arrangements with internal and external stakeholders, representing the service and supporting integrated working across health, social care, education and voluntary sectors.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Professionally and operationally lead the Speech and Language Therapy Service in North East Wales. Along the whole range of settings and all age groups. Work in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential criteria
- • BSc / Dip Grad in Speech & Language Therapy
- MSc or equivalent level of knowledge
- • Experience of working at management level.
- • Financial, Budget and resource management.
- • Proven organisational skills including prioritisation.
Desirable criteria
- • Experience of lecturing and lesson planning.
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Understanding of professional ethics / code of conduct and their application in practice.
