Job overview

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team to lead the Dr Doctor programme at Sirona care & health 

Dr Doctor is a top priority for business plan delivery ambitions for a single digital patient engagement platform. This includes,

·       Developing a digital method for collecting EDI/AIS information

·       Implementing a method for digitally capturing PROMS data

·       Increasing Friends and Family Test response rates

·       Digitally validating waiting lists to comply with NHSE requirements

·       Providing information to families on the Children’s Autism waiting list

·       Procuring a texting platform for appointment reminders

The ideal candidate would be an experienced project manager, working to the dedicated Digital Programme Manager holding a passion for service improvement whilst also able to work under their own initiative and as part of a team to deliver ambitious objectives. 

This is a 12-month fixed term role in the Dr Doctor transformation programme team but sitting within Sirona’s Programme Management Office. The postholder will work as part of a comprehensive programme team and key stakeholders to deliver an ambitious programme of transformation for Sirona.  The role must advocate a clear project management approach involving all key stakeholders and support the development of a transformational future state. The role will work closely with a wide range of clinical, operational, and staff and managers across Sirona.

Main duties of the job

The project manager will be expected to:

  • Work closely with stakeholders at all levels to design, deliver the ambitions of the Dr Doctor programme.
  • Support and manage the project/s actions to ensure swift operational delivery of specific actions across the programme.
  • Ensure plans are developed and progressed with clear deliverables.
  • Support the Dr Doctor Digital Programme Manager and Director to make comprehensive recommendations on any substantial challenges and where required managed change requests.
  • Support and encourage the use of change methodologies including the use of small scalable pilots or test and learn projects.
  • Engage widely with stakeholders, encouraging co-production and engagement.
  • Support the development of benefits identification and tracking
  • Identify interdependencies and encourage join up of work where appropriate
  • Promote the empowerment of patients and carers, prevention, patient activation and behaviour change, digital and innovation in system redesign

The successful candidate will work with the Dr Doctor Digital Programme Manager and Head of Programme Management as a senior manager in ensuring that the work of the PMO function contributes effectively to the needs of the organisation and system, promoting an open, honest, and collaborative approach, ensuring programme and project delivery contributes to strategic planning and strategic objectives of Sirona and the system.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or commensurate level of experience
  • Qualification in programme/project and/or change management/transformation or willingness to work towards this
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing complex projects
  • Knowledge of local, national, strategic and operational policy developments and an awareness of their implications.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Project and Programme Management techniques with evidence of continuing professional development gained through qualifications or equivalent experience or training
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience of leading successful projects and programmes
  • Ability to make decisions when required and/or know when to escalate difficult issues working to tight and often changing timescales
  • Able to deliver improvements in clinical and / non-clinical environments
Desirable criteria
  • To be able to use initiative to decide relevant actions and make recommendations to managers with the aim of improving deliverables and compliance to policies
