Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join us as an HR Business Partner on a six-month fixed-term or secondment basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who can quickly step into the role and make an immediate contribution. You will need strong operational HR experience, sound judgement and the confidence to work with senior leaders in a fast-paced environment. We also welcome applications from experienced HR professionals looking to take the next step in their career through an acting-up or secondment opportunity.
You will support one of our Clinical Divisions, working closely with senior leaders to provide expert, pragmatic HR advice and support. You will play a key role in supporting workforce performance, staff experience and the delivery of safe, effective patient care.
The post is available for six months to provide additional short-term capacity within the HR Business Partnering service.
This post is offered as a fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity.
Interviews will take place week commencing 26th October 2026.
Main duties of the job
- You will support one of our Clinical Divisions
- Provide advice and guidance on complex employee relations cases (performance, conduct, sickness, behaviours)
- Support delivery of workforce plans, service change, and transformation programmes
- Coach and develop managers to build confidence and capability in people management
- Ensure timely management of cases to reduce risk and improve outcomes
- Work collaboratively with HR colleagues to provide a consistent and high-quality service

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Masters level in relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Chartered Member of the CIPD or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive HR experience of working with senior managers, supporting and resolving complex people issues
- Experience of working collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver aims and objectives through a coaching and consultancy approach, supporting and developing the leadership and management capabilities of senior staff throughout the organisation
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of the workforce agenda in the health sector
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Strong knowledge of best practice HR business partnering initiatives, stakeholder management and influencing strategies with a proven ability to turn these innovative ideas into working models.
- Strong business acumen to support HR strategy development and delivery
- Strong knowledge of people and HR planning methods and interventions
- Strong understanding of relevant employment legislation and the impact of future legislative changes
- Strong knowledge of relationship management, internal service level agreements and implementation of key performance indicators
- An understanding of coaching methods and approaches to guide senior leaders, particularly within a large change agenda environment
