We are appointing a locum Consultant Anaesthetist in our Critical Care team at UHS. The job plan will be a mixture of neuro ICU and general anaesthesia.
This large department offers all major specialties and there are opportunities for you to undertake a wide variety of work. The elements we require in particular are elective and emergency major general surgery, orthopaedic/trauma and spinal surgery, ophthalmic anaesthesia, pre-assessment clinic, anaesthesia for endoscopy and interventional radiology.
We are concerned for the well-being of our Consultants and attention is paid to work life balance in the detailed construction of job plans. Main duties of the job
We require the services of anaesthetists who can undertake out of hours neuro ICU cover and daytime general anaesthesia duties.
We also cover surgical specialities at Lymington New Forest Hospital, and sessions are available there. A wide range of anaesthetic skills are needed, therefore candidates with almost any skill set are welcome.

Salary (depends on experience) : £93,666 - £126,281 annual

Qualifications and training
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration
- CCT in Anaesthesia/ICM (near completion of CESR programme)
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate medical qualification (eg MRCP), or MSc, Cert Ed. (completed or currently in progress)
Previous or relevant experience
Essential criteria
- 2 years NHS Speciality Trainee level experience
- Experience in a range of sub-speciality Anaesthetics
- Teaching experience
- Audit experience
