Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Innovation, Development and Integration team at the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Initially, the role will focus on supporting our integration workstreams, focusing on the redevelopment of our Trust Integration Engine along with the development of integration work associated with the Microsoft Power Platform. There will also be the opportunity to support the development of our internally developed web applications.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be an experienced web application and/or integration developer, with a flair for gathering complex systems requirements across a non-technical multidisciplinary team. They will join a small team of solution developers, technical architects, analysts and consultants in supporting the work of one of the UKs largest ambulance services.

The post holder will support development in a range of the following technologies:
•    Microsoft Stack e.g. Visual Studio, SQL and Power Platform
•    PHP 8.0+ and/or C++
•    CSS
•    JQuery
•    JavaScript
•    Bootstrap

Working for our organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject area
  • Educated to higher degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • ITIL Foundation Accredited
  • Evidence of further development and or education and training
  • Proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server and knowledge of Server-Side technologies such as PHP 7.0 and above, and/or knowledge of .NET and C#
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge of the full stack development lifecycle and core development principles.
  • Able to show experience and knowledge of HTML, CSS, and a number of front-end libraries such as jQuery, Bootstrap 5. A
  • Expert knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft .NET architecture and Microsoft technology stack including the Power platform
