An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic candidate to take up the post of Special Operations Response Team (SORT) Manager (Acute Trust Support).
The role will primarily involve developing, designing, and delivering an annual programme of training, and education for NHS hospital trainers within the NWAS NHS Trust geographical area.

The Train the Trainer programme will be related specifically to the Hospital decontamination capability, and will involve a blend of cognitive and practical training, on chemical PPE, decontamination techniques and procedures.
This training programme will be delivered at different hospital sites around the North West region which be arranged and coordinated by the post holder in partnership with the hospital Emergency Planning Resilience and Response (EPRR) Managers.
The post holder will also be required to carry out annual audits on the hospital Trusts decontamination capability and produce capability audit reports for the hospital Trusts, the Integrated Care Bureau (ICB) Leads covering that area and for the NHS England EPRR Leads.
The postholder will also be expected to support hospital Trusts in the development of their decontamination response plans, training and, exercise programmes that the hospital Trusts will carry out and provide guidance and support to hospital Trusts in this area of work.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
