Department: Imaging

 

Band 2 £24,465 per annum (pro rata if Part-time)

 

Part-time 30 hours or 21.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working. Weekly hours to be worked flexibly across 7 days, various shifts, early and late.

 

The Imaging Department is a modern, well-equipped department and we are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team.

 

The successful candidate will have a caring nature, very good verbal communication skills, be a strong team player, have an ability to organise their time effectively and be able to use their initiative. 

 

The main duties of the post involve: 

  • Interacting with patients 
  • Transporting patients to and from Imaging
  • IT, data inputting computer and keyboard skills 
  • Support Radiographers with imaging examination
  • Reception duties when required
  • Moving and handling duties following Trust mandatory training, these will including patients, trolleys-with or without load, beds-with or without load, moving/lifting equipment, e.g. hoist and other items as required

Swydd-ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

  • To assist in the preparation of patients for all Imaging examinations.
  • Transport/escort patients to and from all wards and departments to the Imaging Department, including patient notes and samples. Work will normally be given in an order to be completed, however use of initiative will be required. e.g. on attending a ward to collect a patient who is not ready, review other patients who can be transported next.
  • Liaise with Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and other Imaging Assistants as to daily work schedule for patient transfers. A more senior team member will always be available to provide advice.
  • Assist in the movement of patients onto and from X-ray, CT and Ultrasound tables when required. 
  • To undertake the movement of Ultrasound and mobile X-ray machines.
  • To use safely and take care of equipment e.g. Cleaning of Trolleys and wheelchairs. To report faulty equipment to supervising staff.
