Job overview
North West Ambulance Service is looking to recruit a full-time, permanent Rostering Coordinator based at Toxteth Ambulance Station within the Cheshire & Merseyside Area North Sector.
Main duties of the job
You will have responsibility for resource planning of the Central and South Liverpool Group’s ambulances and rapid response vehicles, by the advanced allocation of daily shifts for operational ambulance personnel ensuring effective cover of all resources.
Facilitating short notice cover for absences, which can occur with less than 24 hours’ notice, using overtime and bank colleagues.
The management of, and maintaining and recording of staff hours/shifts on to the global rostering system including planned shift hours, overtime, annual leave, requests for special leave, sickness absence and training.
You will be required to work in partnership with the other rostering co-ordinators and Senior Paramedic team in the sector to ensure cover for all contingencies as required.
To ensure effective continuation of rota cover for all groups you will support the whole sector when required.
You will also produce performance and management information and provide administration and clerical support to the leadership team in the area.
You will report directly to the Group Operations Manager

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
