As an integrated Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) delivers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.
- Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
- Extensive community physical health and well-being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term condition management.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,500 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. Job overview
Do you want to join a new and exciting team at Skylark ward. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Housekeeper. Skylark ward a specialist 11 bedded unit providing inpatient service for older adults based at the Skylark Unit, Avondale, Royal Preston Hospital.
The Unit provides assessment and interventions for clients, operates seven days a week and is accessible 24hrs per day.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as part of a key team, undertaking responsibility for providing a clean environment for patients, visitors and staff for Lancashire & South Cumbria Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
Previous experience would be advantageous but full training in all duties will be given. You will need to demonstrate a considerate and friendly approach to your duties and be able to work as part of a team.
Our patients have a range of mental health conditions and learning disabilities therefore you will need to interact compassionately with our patients, service users and their carers.

- Educated to GCSE standard (grades A-C) or equivalent.
- Working towards NVQ Level 3 in related subject ( to be achieved within 1 year of appointment) or equivalent level of experience
Knowledge

- Understand the demands of the ward environment.
- Knowledge of the working practices of the ward area.
- Awareness and understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a multi- disciplinary team
- Experience of planning and organising daily activities across a variety of disciplines.
