An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trust Resilience Team, in the newly established training team of Command and Resilience Educators. Reporting to the Head of Command and Resilience Training, the Command and Resilience Educators are responsible for the planning, development and delivery of mandatory commander and wider Resilience education across the North West Ambulance Service, in line with statutory and Trust requirements.
The post holder will be Subject Matter Expert (SME) in order to advise NWAS and facilitate on specialist subjects including, Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA), Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), Chemical Biological Radiation Nuclear and explosives (CBRNe), Call Centres, EPRR and National Occupational Standards. Be prepared to complete further training in developing subjects appropriate to the role for example VR, AI.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to develop and facilitate single and multi-agency exercises in conjunction with the Resilience Team, utilising data accrued from debriefs and action trackers. Assess participants against their required competencies and give feedback. Collate information and write exercise reports.
As a trained National Inter-agency Liaison Officer (NILO) the post holder will require a high level of knowledge around the specialist skills sets required, providing specialist tactical and operational advice to NWAS commanders and working with partners. The post holder will be required to lead by example and maintain competencies as laid down in National Occupational Standards. As a NILO, the postholder will be part of the Trusts on-call rota.
This is an excellent opportunity for the post holder to be part of a team of Command and Resilience Educators, responsible for the delivery of EPRR training across the regional footprint of the North West Ambulance Service.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Essential criteria
- Expert knowledge of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response and able to demonstrate credibility
- Expert communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) command standards and guidance
- Knowledge and understanding of Skills for Health
- Ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals and blue light partners
- Experience in the application of HR processes
- Demonstrable experience of line management responsibilities
- Able to operate with confidential materials, including those protected under the government security classifications
Qualifications/ Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or relevant professional experience
- Full UK driving license, with C1
- Appropriate emergency driving qualification
- National Inter-Agency Liaison Officer (NILO) (or Tactical Commander) or willing to work towards
- Working knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act, Emergency Preparedness guidance, and Emergency Response and Recovery guidance
