West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

The borough of Ealing has a diverse population with unique health and social care challenges. The Healthy Ealing programme is an initiative aimed at improving health and social care outcomes for residents by addressing health inequalities and improving access to services.

The aim of this role is to support the development and operational delivery of the Healthy Ealing programme. The team uses targeted, culturally competent and innovative approaches to deliver activities that improve health and wellbeing for communities experiencing inequalities.

The programme works to improve health and wellbeing in marginalised communities by improving access to the building blocks of health, supporting the workforce to deliver culturally competent services and running outreach events to reduce health and social inequalities through structured public education, awareness raising and signposting.

The postholder will support the Ealing Borough Based Partnership in the delivery of community outreach events and collaborative public health initiatives. This includes working with a wide range of stakeholders across the borough to build capacity for equity and inclusion by coordinating projects, supporting engagement activities and strengthening relationships with community partners.

The postholder will support the Healthy Ealing team to coordinate and deliver community engagement initiatives, outreach programmes and partnership activities across the borough.

This will include supporting the organisation of community outreach events and engagement initiatives for targeted population groups experiencing health inequalities, including (but not limited to) asylum seekers, people experiencing homelessness, vulnerable migrants and Gypsy/Roma communities.

The role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders including voluntary and community sector organisations, community leaders, faith groups and health professionals to improve access to health information, services and support.

The postholder will provide operational, administrative and project support to the team, including coordinating meetings, managing communications, supporting governance

Qualifications

  • Educated to bachelor degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area

Experience

  • Experience in an NHS commissioning or contracting environment, together with an understanding of current pressures facing the NHS
  • Experience of developing relationships and maintaining them with stakeholders, such as provider organisations
  • Experience engaging with vulnerable or minority communities, including understanding the importance of cultural appropriateness
  • Experience of minute taking, developing agendas and maintaining action logs
  • Experience of working in a project/programme management environment (secretarial/administration background)

Knowledge
