Job overview
Join our dynamic Neurosciences team as an RTT Validator, where you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely management of elective patient pathways. Using your expert knowledge of 18 week RTT rules and other elective care performance frameworks, you will track and validate patient journeys, update Patient Tracking Lists, and liaise closely with clinical teams to maintain the highest standards of data quality.
You will assess, interpret and correct information within the Trust’s EPR systems, cross reference clinic letters and patient records, and support clinicians in effective pathway management. This is a fast paced role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring patients are treated in line with Trust waiting time policies.
Main duties of the job
- Provide expert knowledge of 18 weeks referral to treatment (RTT) rules and use them to manage all elective patient pathways. This will involve the tracking of patients on their waiting lists to ensure elective access targets are met.
- To understand and have a working knowledge of all other elective care performance frameworks (e.g. CWT).
- Updating patient tracking lists (PTL) and reporting back to the Patient Pathway Supervisor and service Business Manager.
- Contribute to the development of system/report solutions which allow data quality errors to be dealt with as near to the source of input as possible (to avoid delay and unnecessary recovery or amendment of historical data).
- Educate the multi-disciplinary team, including working in clinical area around RTT guidelines.
- Use initiative and work without direct supervision, as well as to use relevant information technology to facilitate the performance of tasks.
- Participate in annual appraisals and performance reviews. Identify personal development needs.

Essential criteria
- GCSE level (including English & Maths) or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Education to degree
- Minimum of 1 year working within a healthcare environment

- Competent use of IT systems including Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Good numerical skills
- Methodical and well organised
