Job overview

At North West Ambulance Service, our people are there for others at their most vulnerable. This role is about making sure their voices are heard. We are looking for an engagement professional who believes that staff experience matters, that listening must lead to action, and that meaningful involvement can shape how people feel, contribute and belong at work.

This is a rare opportunity to influence staff engagement across a large, diverse and operationally demanding NHS organisation. You will lead the development and delivery of engagement initiatives, activities and approaches that help us better understand the experiences of our workforce and respond in ways that make a real difference. Working closely with the Staff Experience Advisor (Wellbeing Specialist), HR colleagues and operational leaders, you will use staff feedback, insight and data to shape priorities, support meaningful action planning and help ensure the staff voice is central to how we improve culture and experience across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with credibility, strategic awareness and the confidence to turn insight into action. You will need to build strong relationships, work across professional boundaries and influence at all levels, while keeping equality, inclusion and continuous improvement at the centre of your approach. This is a role for someone who understands both people and systems and wants to use that knowledge to create lasting change.

For the right person, this is more than a job. It is an opportunity to improve the working lives of the people behind one of the NHS’s most vital services. If you are driven by purpose, care deeply about people experience and want to help shape a more inclusive, responsive and compassionate organisation for those who dedicate their lives to helping others, this could be the role for you.

Working for our organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
