The trust security team is an integral part of the trust services working 24/7/365.
Your role
To act as the first point of contact for any security related issues.
To manage the staff employed as security guards to provide the best possible experience for all users (patients, visitors, and staff).
To monitor and coordinate the reaction to any alarm activations.
To provide reports and monitoring information as required in order to produce performance reports.
Main duties of the job
The Christie is an international leader in cancer research and development and the largest cancer treatment centre of its kind in Europe.
The Facilities division has a vacancy for a band 4 Security Supervisor role within the Security team . All work will be supported by risk assessments.
The Security Supervisor will provide professional service and operate within the values and standards of the trust.

Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 General Management/Supervisory or equivalent formal training or equivalent experience.
- SIA Level 2 – Door
Desirable criteria
- SIA Level 2 – CCTV
Experience
Essential criteria
- Management/supervisory experience in customer led service.
- Previous experience in customer service, working with the public.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Produce written reports from information recorded electronically.
- Introduction of management processes and systems of controls.
- Scheduling and planning own workload.
- Basic understanding of cyber security principles
- Experience of dealing with digital evidence i.e. CCTV footage
- Good communication and persuasive skills.
- Worked previously as part of a team.
- Commitment and self-motivation.
Desirable criteria
- Hospital environment and facilities functions.
- Maintain focus for long periods where work patterns can be unpredictable.
- Analyzing and interpreting data and information and benchmarking data.
