Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of older people living with mental health needs or dementia? Are you caring, patient and able to build trusting relationships when people need support most? 

If so, we’d love you to join us on Friday 15th May 2026, at St Mary’s Hospital, Willow House, Green Hill Road, Armley, Leeds for an open assessment day where you will learn more about the Trust, the Older People’s Service, the important role of a Healthcare Support Worker and interview for a position.

The Mount has four inpatient wards providing care and treatment for older people with dementia and mental health needs.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care. This includes personal care, therapeutic support, observations, and helping to keep the ward safe and welcoming. Your focus will be on promoting wellbeing, dignity and recovery.

We provide strong ongoing support and development, including regular appraisals, personal development plans, training and study opportunities, and high‑quality clinical supervision.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research and development.

Applicants should be aware that individuals requiring a visa to work in the UK, the Trust only provides sponsorship for registered healthcare practitioner roles (this does not include Healthcare Support Workers). This is an essential requirement, and the Trust is unable to offer you a role if you do not meet Trust requirements for sponsorship and Home Office requirements for a visa.
