Job overview
The Community and Wellbeing network are able to offer an exciting opportunity for a band 4 Assistant Practioner to work within the Central Lancashire Moving Well service. The post is primarily based at the Minerva Health Centre The main purpose of this post is to support the Occupational Therapy outpatient service within the highly specialised Rheumatology team. You will work alongside our wider MDT including consultants, specialist nurses, AHPs HCAs and admin staff.
This a new post within the team and an exciting opportunity for the postholder to be involved in developing the role with the support of the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapy team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral member of the Moving Well Rheumatology Service, supporting qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in delivering high quality services across the Preston and South Ribble area.
You will be responsible for undertaking delegated clinical tasks and providing effective, specialised care, to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the service.
You will also need an enthusiasm for working with patients with complex long-term conditions.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Healthcare qualification level 3 such as BTEC, CACHE, relevant health care experience
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the role of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists
- Knowledge of accountability, relevant SOP’s, policies and importance of patient documentation
- Health, safety, risk and infection control awareness. Safeguarding and MCA understanding
- Knowledge of a variety client conditions related to Rheumatology
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a clinical environment or with patients/carers
- Experience carrying out pre-planned therapeutic interventions
- Experience of working independently / lone working
