Therapy Secretary to Community Therapy Team Leads - Middlesbrough Council

Base: Cavendish House, Middlesbrough

The integrated Occupational Therapy Service provides a service to South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Middlesbrough Social Care and Redcar & Cleveland Social Care.

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic motivated person to join the Administration Team for IOTS to provide secretarial support to the Occupational Therapy Team Leads and Social Care team at Middlesbrough Council.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will need to have previous experience working as a secretary or in an administration role, have a good standard of IT and literacy skills including proficient use of Microsoft Office systems eg. Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Internet Explorer and note/minute taking.

You will need to  have excellent organisational skills/ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines within a busy environment.

Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and regular support and supervision will be provided by the office manager.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • GCSE in Maths and English (A-C/4-9) or Functional Skills (level 2)
  • Knowledge of patient administration and other related systems, acquired through training experience to NVQ3 equivalent level or Advanced Level of Certificate of Technical Competence (IHRIM) or equivalent.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a secretarial/administrative role
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Systems eg. Word, Excel, SharePoint, Powerpoint, Outlook , Internet Explorer and note/minute taking

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • High degree of IT and literacy including creating spreadsheets, producing reports, manipulating data and word processing documents
  • Excellent organisational skills/ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines within a busy environment
  • To respond and adapt to the changing needs of the service
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Pro-active in dealing with administrative issues
