We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Join our Estates & Facilities team as an Electrical Technician and play a vital role in maintaining the electrical infrastructure that supports essential healthcare services within a secure and unique environment. You will support the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across a large, secure healthcare estate, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive repairs. Working in accordance with HTM-06 guidance, statutory regulations, and Trust procedures, you will inspect, test, fault-find, and repair a wide range of electrical equipment and infrastructure to ensure systems remain reliable and compliant. You will assist with the completion of maintenance records, support contractors when required, and maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and tool control. The role requires strong technical knowledge, good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will communicate effectively with colleagues and service users, providing a professional and customer-focused service while contributing to the continuous improvement of the estate.

Qualifications

- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, or equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.

- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
- Low Voltage (LV) Switching Awareness or Authorised Person (LV) training.
- IPAF, PASMA, or Working at Height certification.
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- CompEx or specialist electrical training relevant to healthcare environments.
Experience

- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience within a commercial, industrial, healthcare, or public sector environment.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding, testing, and inspection of electrical systems.
- Experience working on electrical distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, generators, UPS systems, and associated equipment.
- Experience using maintenance management systems and completing maintenance documentation
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).

- Understanding of electrical regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of tool control procedures and safe working practices within secure environments.
- Ability to diagnose faults systematically and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
