Group Non-Executive Directors - BSW Hospitals Group

Influence the future of healthcare across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire  bringing the insight, challenge and lived experience our communities need. BSW Hospitals Group brings together three leading NHS Foundation Trusts:

  • Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust
  • Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust

Together, we serve communities across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire, whilst delivering a number of specialist services that reach far beyond our region. The Group model enables us to work at scale, share expertise and shape more sustainable, equitable healthcare for the future.

We are seeking exceptional individuals to join our Board as Group Non-Executive Directors. We want our Board to better reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and the workforce we lead.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

This is an opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making across three successful organisations, providing independent challenge, support and oversight as we strengthen services, improve outcomes and deliver our ambitions for patients, staff and local communities.

We particularly welcome applications from women, people from Black, Asian and other Global Majority backgrounds, disabled people and people with lived experience of health inequalities, as these groups are currently under-represented in senior NHS leadership and our Board. We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process and will make reasonable adjustments for candidates who need them.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Clinical Workforce Transformation with a clinical background gained through working in nursing, midwifery, allied health, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, primary care or community services.
  • Population Health, Public Health and Data Analytics, with experience of population or public health management, using insight and evidence to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and understand the needs of diverse communities.
  • Commercial, Innovation and Technology with an entrepreneurial mindset and background gained in working in the private, voluntary, community interest or technology sectors.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

We are looking for people who can bring:

  • Strategic insight and independent judgement.
  • Constructive challenge and strong governance experience.
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for patients and communities.

·         Different perspectives, lived experience and ways of thinking that will help us ask better questions and make better decisions.

Senior level experience is essential, but this may have been gained in a wide range of settings, including the public, private, voluntary, community, social enterprise or academic sectors. NHS experience is welcome but not essential. What matters most is your ability to contribute strategically, work collaboratively and bring independent judgement to complex issues affecting patients, staff and communities.

We know that talented people sometimes rule themselves out if they do not meet every aspect of a role description. If you share our values, bring relevant senior experience and can offer a perspective that will strengthen our Board, we encourage you to apply.

If you are passionate about public service and want to help shape fairer, more inclusive and more sustainable healthcare across our region, we would welcome your application.

Join us in leading one of the most ambitious NHS collaborations in the country
