About you

We're looking for qualified and registered Anaesthetic Technicians who want to take the next step in their healthcare journey. Whether you're looking for professional development, team culture, or the opportunity to contribute to better patient outcomes - we want to hear from you.

Anaesthetic Technicians at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora play a critical role within multidisciplinary surgical and perioperative teams. You'll be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of anaesthetic equipment, working closely with Anaesthetists to deliver safe and effective care. From elective surgeries through to acute and emergency procedures, your technical knowledge and clinical judgment will help ensure patients receive world-class care, every time.

We have roles available throughout New Zealand, from major tertiary hospitals to regional healthcare facilities. These teams are known for their inclusive, people-focused culture, with ongoing investment in training, mentorship, and clinical upskilling. In most locations, you'll also work across a wide variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT, orthopaedics, plastics, and more.

To be eligible, you must hold registration (or be eligible for registration) with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and possess a recognised qualification in anaesthetic technology. You'll bring excellent communication skills, a calm and confident approach, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
