Job overview

Provide overall responsibility for the management of the administration team.  Manage agreed targets set out by the Welsh Government in relation to referrals to treatment.  Monitor progress of administrative management and provide weekly feedback on achievements and work collaboratively to plan to meet these targets.

 

Working closely with other members of the Management Team, the post-holder has direct operational and management responsibility for all the administrative, clerical and secretarial staff within the team. The post holder will be expected to identify & implement new and improved ways of working to support the Management Team in the achievement of key operational and strategic objectives for the division. The post holder will be expected to produce routine and ad hoc information to support the monitoring of quality indicators and the achievement of key division objectives.

 

The post-holder will be expected to work closely with division colleagues and other divisional departments across the Health Board to promote joint approaches to solving services issues.

 

Main duties of the job

By the nature of the duties, the post holder will generally work under own initiative to deal with day to day management of the team, with indirect supervision available by telephone.  The post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with other members of staff, patients, carers, relatives, medical staff and other visitors to the Department, in person and in writing, with courtesy and discretion at all times.
