Job overview

We are currently looking recruit to the position of Sterile Services Production Supervisor.  The Sterile Services Department is registered with the MHRA and holds ISO 13485:2016.

You will need to have a ‘can do’ flexible approach and work within all production areas of the department whilst carrying out the supervisory role.  Additionally you will ideally have experience of working within an area which has Quality Management Systems in place.   This is an interesting and varied role, there is also the requirement to provide on-call cover.

Main duties of the job

Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Sterile Services Department by providing  positive support to senior and junior colleagues and visitors to the SSD.

To ensure that each instrument set received into the department are processed by following the pre-set procedures relating to the SSD.

In the absence of the Sterile Services Manager and Deputy take overall responsibility for the staff and department ensuring the continuity of service.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledgeable of sterile services procedures
  • Knowledgeable of all work instructions and quality management system
  • Experience in Staff Management
Desirable criteria
  • Decontamination Services (IDSc) Technical Certificate or NVQ Level 3 Decontamination or equivalent level of Decontamination knowledge / experience
  • Decontamination SSD Supervisors / manager (to NHS guidance) course

Other

Essential criteria
  • Ability to undertake internal rotation including on call and contingency hours
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Risk within Production Environment

Qualifications/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) Technical Certificate or NVQ 3 Decontamination or equivalent level of Decontamination knowledge/experience
  • Decontamination SSD supervisors / managers (to NHS guidance) course
Desirable criteria
  • Desire to work towards recognised NVQs preferably acceptable to IDSc standard
  • Internal Auditor to ISO13485:2016 standard
