THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 15 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING.

Applications are welcomed from both new and existing Band 5 Physiotherapists.

An opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 5 Physiotherapist within the Orthopaedic Team based in Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor. 

This role will be for 15 months and support the INITIATE hip fracture research project

The physiotherapy service in BCUHB offers a whole career pathway to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. Service improvement and development is encouraged and all staff have access to regular supervision and training.

This is an opportunity to work in large established and supportive team in a beautiful part of the UK.

 

Main duties of the job

To assess and treat patients from a designated caseload, some may have complex physical and psychological problems.

To provide a diagnosis and plan and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

To hold responsibility for own caseload working with out direct supervision.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To ensure a high standard of care for each patient working with patients, families or carers, multi-agency teams and disciplines involved.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Degree in physiotherapy
  • HPC registration.
Desirable criteria
  • Member of CSP

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Wide range of clinical placements during training
  • Previous experience in NHS environment
Desirable criteria
  • Pre registration work experience in a relevant area
  • Previous experience in orthopaedics
  • Previous experience in hip arthroplasty management

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Basic assessment and problem solving skills
  • Ability to critically appraise research literature
  • Computer literate
Desirable criteria
  • Welsh Speaker

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of NHS roles inc. Assistants/ T.I
  • Multidisciplinary/agency working.
