The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Acute Paediatric Department. We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual to join our friendly and supportive team.
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering high-quality administrative support? If so, this could be the role for you.
You will provide comprehensive secretarial support to a team of five consultants, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the service. This is a varied position where no two days are the same. You will require excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of colleagues. Strong organisation skills and attention to detail are essential, together with a flexible and proactive approach.
This role may also involve providing cover for our Booking Clerk, offering further variety and development opportunities with the team.
Main duties of the job
Provide a timely and accurate administrative service, supporting the delivery of an efficient and effective department.
You will undertake a range of day-to-day administrative duties including typing, filing, tracking and retrieving notes, incoming and outgoing post, diary management and general office tasks as required. The role involves supporting Consultant Secretaries in their daily work with occasional cover to support the Booking Clerk role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
