Job overview

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 8 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER.

If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

We are looking for a self-motivated, patient and service focused individual to join our team of Pharmacy Assistants, working across the Dispensary and Stores & Distribution areas of the department.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Main duties will include reception work, ward stock top ups, stock maintainace such as daily stock checks and goods receipting, filing and general housekeeping tasks. You should have good organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multitask and work accurately in a busy work environment.

Previous experience of working in a similar setting and with computers would be an advantage, although this is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or willingness to undertake and achieve NVQ Level 2 within 12 months of appointment
  • GCSE pass or equivalent in Maths and English Language

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Pharmacy experience in hospital, community or other
  • Customer service experience

Aptitude and Abilities

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Work within own limitations
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems
