Trosolwg o'r swydd

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Lead Nurse to support Tunstall Ward. This post is for 9 months and to cover maternity leave. Tunstall Ward is a 20 bedded acute ward for working age females.

Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

If successful, you will join a skilled multi-disciplinary team and will work closely with the clinical leadership team to ensure that excellent services are delivered to our patients, and staff are developed to reach their potential.  You will also be required to lead by example and demonstrate compassionate care and excellent leadership skills.  You will provide supervision to staff and work closely with patients, their families and carers to ensure interventions delivered by the team are individualized, patient centred and recovery focused.

We are seeking a confident individual who is keen to contribute to the delivery of high quality nursing care and service development. You should have a strong interest and substantial experience of working with complex patients who may present with behaviours that challenge. You should have a high level of resilience and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate a warm, patient centred approach to care.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and engage in multi-disciplinary team working.

Qualifications

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
  • Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months

Experience

  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
  • Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.

  • Experience of working within a range of services, including inpatient and community settings
  • Experience of undertaking or participating in research

Knowledge

  • Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for patients in the designated field
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
  • Research and development methodology.
  • Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
  • Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
