Job overview
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director for Neurology. We have one post available: 1.0 PA across East and West Yorkshire
Accountable to the lead Deputy Postgraduate Dean via the Head of School of Medicine. You will play an important part in the direction of training programmes across NHS England and the Yorkshire Deanery.
Specific roles and responsibilities will be discussed at interview.
Main duties of the job
Supporting trainees’ physical, emotional and mental well-being, essential involvement with recruitment, quality control and assessment of trainees, as well as delivering a training programme that delivers in accordance with the Neurology Curriculum is required.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant or Associate Specialist with a thorough understanding of Neurology Training across the region. They will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.

Essential criteria
- Primary clinical healthcare qualification
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body Members

- Experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
- Experience of clinical and educational leadership
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education

- Knowledge of the NHS (structures and processes)
- Involvement in appraisal processes
- Trained/ experience in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity
- Understanding of developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations and regulatory bodies
