Job overview
Clinical Measurement Unit (CMU) are are looking for a Receptionist to support the administrative function of the department. The Receptionist plays a key role in supporting all visitors to the department, whilst also working as part of the Administration Team to provide administrative support to the three disciplines within CMU.
Main duties of the job
Public facing reception duties receiving patients, carers and other visitors to the department.
Attend patients for appointments on the department booking system.
Arrange patient transport following clinic attendance.
Process incoming electronic/paper requests for Diagnostic testing on CRIS booking system.
Answering incoming calls from patients and internal/external staff and colleagues and dealing with non-clinical enquiries.
Contact patients to confirm attendance at scheduled appointments.
Supporting with clinic booking and sending out appointments to patients.
This role will be based at Walsall Manor Hospital. Flexibility to work within the Clinical Support Services Care Group may be required on occasion to support operational needs.

Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths & English at grade C or 4/5
- Good understanding of IT including Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable criteria
- Customer Care or Administration related qualification.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience in office and administration procedures.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in patient facing administrative role.
- Experience of appointing clinic appointments and outcomes.
- Experience of working in a health care office environment.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Able to work on reception area meeting and greeting patients/other visitors to the department.
- Excellent reception and telephone skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail/accuracy in data entry.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of CRIS booking system.
