This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Women's health and developing the Perinatal and Pelvic Health Service  (PPHS ) for BHT and delivering outpatient rehabilitation to people with Perinatal and Postnatal conditions.  The post holder will work within the Women's Health and PPHS BHT service across sites, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Wycombe General Hospital and Amersham Hospital. The Women's Health and Pelvic Service comprises mainly of outpatient physiotherapy clinics  across sites. This is a part time post of 18.5 hours.

We pride ourselves on integrated team working and strive for best clinical practice.  We strongly encourage an evidenced based approach and support staff through supervision and appraisal.  There is a strong emphasis on student education. Attendance at post graduate courses is also supported.

Candidates will be expected to join and partake in weekend working rotas.

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

 The post holder must be able to work at an advanced level of clinical practice as the clinical lead Perinatal Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.

To work with maternity and other perinatal services to improve the prevention, identification, and access to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence-recommended treatment for pelvic health problems antenatally, and for at least 12 months postnatally.

To build on the existing Women’s health and pelvic health service, and the established multidisciplinary team (MDT) i.e. Gynae, Urogynae and colorectal that supports it, to optimise multiprofessional pathways of care through service development, direct clinical care and problem resolution. 

To clinically lead the delivery and development of the BHT PPHS covering three hospital trusts (Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Wycombe General Hospital and Amersham General Hospital Bucks).

To plan, implement and monitor strategic delivery of a highly specialist, evidence based, and clinically effective Perinatal Pelvic Health Service in conjunction with the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy leads, relevant consultants and midwifery leads at Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire west Integrated Care Board (ICB); NHS England; and the Bucks Physiotherapy manager.

  • Membership of professional special interest group e.g. POGP
  • Field work/clinical educators course
  • Completion of advanced post graduate courses in relevant field

Experience

  • 7years post qualification experience
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience at Band 7 level in Women's/Pelvic Health
  • Experience in student clinical supervision and supervision of Junior & senior staff
  • Previous experience of quality issues, audit, research activities and risk management
  • Experience of close multi-professional working in an (in/out patient) environment
  • Experience, Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning
