If you are looking for an exciting new challenge this role could be for you.

A vacancy in our JAG Accredited decontamination unit has arisen to cover the previous post holder change of role.

Full training and support will be given to enable you to become part of our Endoscopy team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of our Decontamination Team principally responsible for the disinfecting and maintenance of endoscopes ensuring the processes of safe decontamination are carried out to the highest standards of infection control, maintaining the patient flow through the unit.

The post holder will be expected to work across site within the decontamination teams as required on a seven day roster.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • Secondary Education
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 1 or 2
  • HTM 2030 Endoscopy User Course

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Experience in flexible endoscope decontamination & working within a recognised quality system
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of working in a busy environment
  • Knowledge of decontam-ination/reprocessing technology
  • Previous experience in a health care setting

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates a courteous manner with all individuals who he/she comes into contact with. Customer focused.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Able to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Highly organised & able to prioritise & meet deadlines.
  • Understands concept of confidentiality and standards of conduct and care
Desirable criteria
  • Computer literate including track & trace system
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Pro-active, able to use own initiative & solve problems

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential criteria
  • Able to travel to other sites and off site as necessary. Car user.
  • Ability to work required shift pattern.
  • Ability to undertake general physically demanding work involving regular moving/lifting of loads > 5kg, prolonged standing.
