Job overview
We are pleased to create a post for a committed self-motivated podiatrist to join our team who has excellent wound care skills or wishes to continue to develop their wound care experience.
You must have knowledge and skills in treating patients with complex wounds and will be required to develop your clinical skills, as well as supporting others to develop theirs. This would be via placements or study days to maintain and advance the staffs wound care knowledge.
Buckinghamshire Podiatry are developing a Musculoskeletal High-Risk foot clinic to improve foot off-loading using our RS Scanner led by our MSK High Risk Lead, this will support the High-Risk podiatry patient care management.
The post holder will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for contributing to the service provided by this Integrated Trust. Our team meets monthly for staff meetings and weekly for clinical supervision and you would be required to take an active part in these sessions.

Main duties of the job
We invite a you to join our committed team of podiatrists, where you be able to thrive within Buckinghamshire`s wound care team. The successful candidate must be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and will have the opportunity to develop our their skills in complex wound care.
You must have extensive knowledge treating patients with foot wounds and will be required to develop your clinical skills as well as supporting others to develop theirs. This would be via placements or workshops to maintain and advance the staffs wound care knowledge.
You will work within a team of wound care podiatrists, lead by our principal wound care podiatrist and represent the team in the Diabetic Foot Multidisciplinary clinics.
The post holder will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for contributing to the service provided by this Integrated Trust. Our team meets monthly for staff meetings and clinical reasoning sessions and you would be required to take an active part in these sessions.
There will be opportunity to participate in regular nail surgery sessions.

Education, Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
- BSc /MSc in Podiatry
- Evidence of CPD and post graduate traininging
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Leadership / Management
- Member of the Royal College of Podiatry
Experience e.g Breath of Occupational experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post graduate experience and competence of treating a wide range of patients including complex wounds
- Experience of ESP including X-Ray, interpretion
- Excellent assessment skills to determine treatment plans and discharge pathways
- Experience of triaging and onward referral
- IT skills to aid computer entry requirements and email communication
Desirable criteria
- Experience of staff management and team development
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Current knowledge of defined service area including wound care
- Excellent organisational skills to manage own caseload and those within wound care clinics
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex and varied information to identify issues and develop solutions
- To understand the importance of accurate documentation and IG issues
- Flexible approach and must be able to work as a team member and an autonomous practioner
- Excellent communication skills to engage with patients and colleagues
