Clinical Fellow Higher in Neonatal Intensive Care
Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in NICU for a period of 24 months commence from 07 September 2026 until 03 September 2028.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake a 50% clinical commitment within the NICU Tier 2 rota. The remaining 50% will be dedicated to research, delivering the follow-up phase of the Study of Preterm Infants and Neurodevelopment Genes (SPRING), a prospective neonatal cohort study investigating genetic influences on preterm birth and long-term health and neurodevelopmental outcomes, in collaboration with the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
Duties include protocol delivery, recruitment and consent, clinical and developmental assessments, data analysis, and dissemination.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria: MRCPCH or equivalent qualification, middle grade experience in a tertiary NICU and community paediatrics. The applicant must have NLS certification.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
