Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is seeking an enthusiastic End User Computing Apprentice to join our Digital Workplace team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in IT within the NHS, gaining hands-on experience while completing your apprenticeship qualification.
You will be the first point of contact for service users, providing efficient support and administration to the Digital Workplace teams. Working closely with colleagues across NHS Wales, you will help maintain systems, support operational services, and contribute to improving digital services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job

Withing the Digital Workplace team, act as the first point of contact for callers and service users, providing end user support and responding to queries efficiently.

Monitor ITSM call systems, resolving or escalating requests as appropriate.

Maintain and update spreadsheets, databases, and dashboards to ensure accurate reporting.

Assist with agendas, reports, and documentation for the Digital Workplace teams.

Collaborate with colleagues and external organisations to optimise resources and improve departmental performance.

Attend educational establishment in line with apprenticeship programme requirements.

As an End User Computing Apprentice , you will work towards a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification relevant to the role. You will be expected to take responsibility for completing all elements of your apprenticeship programme, including coursework, assessments, and scheduled learning activities.
This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while developing your technical skills in a supportive environment. It’s an excellent starting point for building a long‑term career in IT, combining structured study with practical, on‑the‑job learning.
