Job overview
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
They will assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members. Work alongside the nursing team members, providing support to junior colleagues in the provision of direct care. Demonstrate the Health Board’s values in everything that you do in the work environment.
Main duties of the job
Outpatients is a diverse, multidisciplinary environment that requires flexible and adaptable skills, an aptitude to learn and a motivation to develop your own skills. We cover a wide range of specialities including Vascular, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology and Ear Nose and Throat clinics.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and committed to give high quality nursing care and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will consistently ensure that a patient’s privacy, dignity and psychological well-being is always maintained and that the care given is patient centred. You need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We need individuals who are forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
We are a proactive department and support medical students, student nurses, apprentices, work placement and HCSW development. As a qualified nurse within the department, you will act as both a Practice Assessor and/or a Practice Supervisor. We recognise the importance of education in maintaining a sustainable workforce and expect our staff to lead by example to inspire the future generation of workforce.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
