Working as part of a supportive and hardworking team, you will help maintain the high standards of food quality,  safety and customer service that are essential within an NHS setting.

The role includes working weekends and Bank Holidays on a rolling rota basis, with shifts operating between 6:30am and 7:00pm, working 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Sunday.

As part of Hywel Dda University Health Board, you will join an organisation committed to delivering high-quality care and services to our local communities. Every member of staff has a valuable part to play in achieving this, and our catering teams are no exception.

Main duties of the job

You will work within a fast-paced commercial kitchen, supporting the delivery of an efficient and responsive catering service while adhering to strict food hygiene and health and safety standards.  Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking food in accordance with menus, recipes and dietary requirements.

  • Supporting the delivery of nutritious meals that meet the needs of patients, staff and visitors.

  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at all times.

  • Working collaboratively with catering colleagues to ensure a smooth and effective service.

  • Assisting with stock control, food storage and the safe use of catering equipment.

  • Supporting the preparation of meals for individuals with specific dietary and nutritional requirements.

  • Contributing to a positive customer experience through a professional and flexible approach.
