Job overview

We are currently seeking a Ward Clerk to provide essential administrative support to Mynydd Mawr Rehabilitation Unit at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.

Mynydd Mawr is a 15 bedded unit specialising in rehabilitation. We care for patients post acute admission from a variety of specialities including General medicine, General surgery, Trauma and orthopaedics. The unit strives to provide patients and their families with a positive experience and high standards of care. 

The successful applicant must demonstrate strong organisation, precise communication, and excellent interpersonal skills. The team are looking for someone who is diligent, motivated, and detail-oriented to assist with a variety of administrative duties. These include updating hospital systems with efficient handling of data. Managing medical records, ensuring timely delivery of referrals, and answering telephone calls.

Full training will be provided to support the successful applicant in their role.

Main duties of the job

Assist the staff in administrative duties relating to the management of the ward e.g. acting on telephone messages / photocopying case notes for patient transfers etc.

The candidate should have excellent Information technology skills, with a good telephone manner, capable of updating records, filing, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, arranging appointments and ambulance bookings.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
