We currently have a Porter Desk Telephone Operative vacancy working 15 hours a week on weekend shifts.

Every Saturday & Sunday 2 pm to 10 pm

Main duties of the job

Details of the job include:

Answering the MCHFT Porters Desk Phone and accurately log porter task requests from MCHFT, Wards and Departments onto the My Porter tracking system.

Ensuring porter task requests are assigned to porters in a timely and orderly manner.

Answering enquiries and providing information regarding the porters' service to MCHFT Wards.

Ensuring set tasks are performed at the appropriate assigned times each day.

To ensuring patient and staff confidentiality by adhering strictly to MCHFT information governance when using radio handsets associated with MyPorter.

To carry out Porter tasks.

To provide a porter service in all patient, public and staff areas.

You will be a part of the portering services team within the estates department and will have contact with clinical and non-clinical staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

SERVICE DELIVERY

To assist with the transfer of patients in and around the Trust

To assist with the transfer of patients in and around the Trust

     To transport patients notes from and to wards, departments, and medical records          library

     To maintain entrances and exits to the premises so that they are free from litter &         leaves etc.

To transfer the deceased and accept BIDs in accordance with agreed mortuary              procedures

To transport and replace medical gas cylinders for wards and departments

To direct patients and visitors around the Trust and help with patient, visitor                   enquiries

To collect and distribute goods within the Trust

To transport & dispose of household, confidential, and clinical waste in accordance with Trust Policy

To maintain and clean manual and electrical equipment and to report maintenance issues to the supervisor
