We provide anaesthetic provision to a wide-ranging elective and emergency program. We have a highly regarded anaesthesia research team and a newly refurbished anaesthetic department with well-equipped teaching facilities. The paediatric anaesthetic team functions as a subgroup of the main anaesthetic department. Children and Young People’s Services comprise a dedicated paediatric pre assessment clinic, paediatric inpatient surgical ward, paediatric inpatient medical ward, paediatric critical care unit (level 2), a newly refurbished children and young people’s surgical day unit and dedicated paediatric theatres and recovery area within the main theatre suite.
