Job overview

We are excited to be looking for a new colleague to join our expanding team of substantive consultants based in North Wales. We are currently looking for a number of Clinical Oncologist Consultants in a range of sub-specialities to strengthen our workforce so that we can provide the best care to the people of north Wales.
The Cancer Division is going through a process of change and is keen to embrace new models of working and innovation. We have recently welcomed Physician’s Associates and increasing numbers of Advanced Nurse Practitioners following successful business case applications. We have also recruited our first Consultant Radiographer and we are exploring various technologies to support the service.
The North Wales Cancer Treatment centre is ideally located at the centre of the region and caters for large volumes of patients daily. All three cancer treatment centres in North Wales have been funded by public donations and we are lucky to have such passionate and supportive communities.
The successful candidate will be based in Glan Clwyd Hospital. There is an on call element to the role and you will be required to take part on a 1 in 8 basis.
We encourage and welcome applications from colleagues who specialise in other tumour sites and will work to create a job plan that is beneficial to the individual and the department.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be appointed to the amended Welsh Consultant contract, which offers newly qualified consultants three SPA’s as standard.

Candidates are encouraged to refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further information.
