Job overview
Main duties of the job
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across mental health wards, clinical rooms, offices, and communal areas.
- Follow strict infection prevention and control procedures in line with NHS and Trust policies.
- Use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and PPE safely and correctly.
- Dispose of waste, including clinical waste, in accordance with procedures.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies as required.
- Report hazards, damage, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Work calmly and appropriately around vulnerable service users, respecting dignity and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitising rooms, offices, communal areas, toilets and corridors.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting all designated areas.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely.
- Replenishing cleaning supplies and toiletries as required.
- Following health and safety and infection control procedures.
- Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
