Job overview
DSFS Ltd are looking to recruit a Waste and Resources Operative, to work within the portering department based at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
The duties include collecting waste and resources for reuse, repair, recycling, or disposal and keeping all corridor areas, lobbies, and stairwells free from clutter or items of equipment.
The job is full time hours, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day between the hours of 08.00 to16. (30 minute unpaid break).
The applicant will have a keen interest in Waste and Resources and will complete relevant waste training.

Main duties of the job
Being a Waste and Resources Operative will involve collecting waste and resources for reuse, repair and recycling, or disposal.
The Waste and Resources Operative will be responsible for ensuring all areas, lobbies and stairwells throughout the Trust are cleared of clutter and items of equipment.
The Waste and Resources Operative must be a good communicator and computer literate. Items for reuse will be advertised via social media and there will be communication with staff via email, bleep and telephone.
The nature of this work requires a significant amount of walking between tasks and frequent manual handling and there is a physical element to all operations.
Attendance of regular refresher training courses and is also a mandatory requirement.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
A full driving license is required for waste collection and transportation of furniture.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post which we will obtain for you.

Applicant requirements
