Job overview

We have a great opportunity at UHDB for an experienced leader to join our team in Imaging as a Deputy General Manager

The post holder will support and deputise when required for the General Manager in the day to day operational and performance management of the Imaging business unit as well as setting and delivering the strategic direction. To provide effective leadership contributing towards the achievement of the financial forecast and delivery of contracted activity, to interpret and implement local policy / strategy and deliver service development.

The UHDB Imaging department at UHDB is Quality Mark accredited.

Our main sites are Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Queens Hospital Burton (QHB).  The UHDB Imaging Department also provides imaging services at the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (FNCH) in the centre of Derby and other community hospitals in Ilkeston, Ripley, Long Eaton Ashbourne, Tamworth and Lichfield, all have plain film and ultrasound provision. UHDB received a large investment for the community Diagnostic centre project

 

Main duties of the job

·         Support the General Manager in achieving outcomes of the Trust’s performance management framework , be accountable for performance in those service areas against all key performance measures within the framework, including the achievement of national clinical quality indicators. 

·         Support with the management and performance of the  Business unit which comprise of staff and equipment to provide a multimodality Imaging service within the Acute, community and community diagnostic sites. These sites comprise of:

-       Breast Unit services including screening

-       Nuclear medicine 

-       Obstetric and Non-Obstetric Ultrasound

-       CT and MRI

-       Projection radiography to include theatre and mobile radiography

- Interventional including vascular, non- vascular and fluoroscopy

·         Support  in setting and delivering the strategic direction for the business unit.

·         Develop and implement local delivery plans that will meet service needs and contribute to the annual planning process of the Trust in line with agreed corporate objectives and priorities.

·         Plan and manage the implementation of projects to modernise services 

·         Ensure effective communication systems are in place throughout the services within the portfolio in portfolio, and between and across other relevant service areas, where relationships are key to the delivery of safe and effective care to patients.
