Supply and Delivery Operative

Band 2

Job overview

There has never been a better time to join the Trust's Supply and Delivery Service as a  Supply and Delivery Operative. We have just introduced a new scanning system to manage the consumables both on site and out at station, so crews don't need to spend time ordering stocks from us. This is now done by us against agreed min/max stock levels.

The role of the Stock Distribution Operative is also a gateway to the organisation with opportunities to develop your career with us either within the Supply and Delivery Service or the wider Trust in both patient-facing and a variety of support roles.

Main duties of the job

Supply and Delivery Operative main duties include:

  • Taking in goods, checking for accuracy .
  • To coordinate and issue uniform stocks.
  • Assist with the dispatch of requisitions for Pharmacy, Consumables and other items.
  • Processing orders both in house and at station level.
  • Delivering goods out to stations, to include pharmacy products.
  • Supporting the returns and disposal processes.

We are in the process of making changes to the ways in which we work in all areas to include Consumables, Pharmacy and Deliveries so as we are developing  our service and are looking for committed people to be based from Skypark Site in Exeter, to receive deliveries, pick orders and carry out deliveries to stations across the Trust. Working hours are  Monday to Friday 08:30 - 16:30.

Working for our organisation

Working for us is an experience like no other.  We provide emergency and urgent care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, operating across the largest ambulance region in England and responding to an average of 2,650 incidents every day.

We remain committed to ensuring that we provide the best possible care for all our patients, which is reflected in our new five-year strategy which has continually improving patient care at its very core.

The role is based in Exeter, one of the most vibrant, attractive and historically interesting cities in England, with excellent transport links and a great mix of independent shops, cafes and bars.

If you embody our values of one team, compassionate and innovative and are looking to make a real difference to peoples’ lives, then we would love to hear from you.
