Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake regular sexual health clinics. The post holder will need to cover basic contraception care within sexual health clinics and cover basic contraception clinics in the event of staff absence. The principle requirement for clinical face to face input is currently sited at Castle Circus Health Centre, with remote consultation clinics worked either on site or at home. You will be expected to participate in a variety of professional activities to support your personal clinical practice and the overall work of the department and Trust. Time will be allocated, within the sexual health part of the contract, to enable professional development, for example to support training towards achieving your dip-GUM, DFSRH and/ or Letters of Competence for insertion of intra-uterine devices and sub dermal implants. Specifically, you will be expected to participate in Quality Improvement projects, ongoing research activities and teaching of medical students and other allied health professionals.

The Sexual Health team is a small multi-disciplinary team based at Castle Circus Health Centre. Our aim is to provide sexual health services that support healthy relationships and sexual well-being in Torbay and South Devon in a caring and non-judgemental way.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBBS or equivalent
- Completion of Foundation Programme Training
Desirable criteria
- Good Clinical Practice Research Certificate
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A clear, logical approach to clinical problems and an appropriate level of clinical knowledge
- Demonstrates understanding of the research governance framework
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in sexual health
- Teaching experience
Specific Skills
Desirable criteria
- A willingness to support the termination of pregnancy service.
