Job overview
We are looking to recruit a high quality radiographers who can offer experience in either CT, MRI or both.
Our Trust is based across two large hospitals, the Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals. Across the organisation we have 9 Canon CT scanners, 4 Siemens MRI scanners, 2 Phillips MRI scanners and an Esaote Extremity MRI scanner. This position is primarily based at the Bournemouth site, where a new trauma centre has recently opened, housing two of the above CT scanners.
For CT, we perform a large number of orthopaedic, neuro and chest/body studies, as well as specialist examinations such as cardiac, angiography, colonography and ablations. In MRI we have the opportunity to perform orthopaedic, spine, angio, liver, cardiac, breast, prostate, head & neck and arthrography.
We are reference sites for Canon, Siemens, Esaote and Ulrich and as such have regular visitors to our department which helps us maintain great relationships with the companies and consequently enjoy superb support.
Main duties of the job
We benefit from a dynamic, advanced thinking team of radiographers and assistants who enjoy good working and social relationships. There is excellent support for CPD, such as IV cannulation training, study days and courses. This is a departments are committed to staying at the forefront of technology as well as all the latest CT & MR scanning techniques.
We offer the possibility to be recruited as a band 5 and receive training, or, if you already have previous experience in CT or MRI, to join us straight as a band 6 radiographer. If however you then require training in the other modality, this is not a problem - we are always keen to develop our team.

Hours: Varied between 7am and 11pm + a share of night shifts and include weekend & bank holiday shifts.

- DCR (R ) or BSc in Radiography
- Current HCPC Registration
- NHS experience or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate qualification in CT or MRI.

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of multi-slice CT techniques and principles, and/ or an excellent working knowledge of the principles of MRI physics, and to be able to relate this to the introduction of new techniques.
