Job overview
The post holder will be responsible for the care of research participants and trial data management at Dorset County Hospital, as well as supporting research conducted at the Weymouth Research Hub. This will require the deployment of administrative, analytical and interpersonal skills alongside an aptitude for securing multi-departmental and professional support for clinical trials through effective communication at all levels of the organisations involved.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a high-quality specialist clinical research service as part of the multi-professional and disciplinary team across DCH sites.
- Display an in-depth understanding and become competent in screening, recruiting, consenting and caring for participants across a range of clinical trials.
- To develop expertise in research data collection from participants.
- Display efficiency at time and project management.
- The post holder will be required to work independently within occupational, national and organisational guidelines.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/AHP
- Evidence of recent CPD
Desirable criteria
- ICH Good Clinical Practice
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 1 to 2 year’s post registration NHS experience in an acute setting
- Understanding of professional nursing issues
- Understanding of clinical governance and its requirements especially with regards to risk management
- Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of Research Governance
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Evidence of ability to practice as a competent, autonomous practitioner
- Evidence of ability to work as part of a supportive team
- Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors
