The company is a separate legal body to North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be an employee of the subsidiary and not the NHS.

The Northern & Yorkshire NHS Assessment Centre (NYNHSAC) is a Regional Estates Centre based within the NTH Solutions / North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and is responsible for meeting identified training and development needs of NHS employers within the boundaries of the regional base and where necessary, national NHS employers as well.

NYNHSAC Manager, duties including budget holder, generating and managing funds required to meet the full cost of the Assessment Centre from various sources including ESFA funding, negotiate contracts on behalf of the Assessment centre, draw up SLAs, carry out monitoring audits, appoint and manage consultants and to develop reports and adapt information to meet the contractual obligations of the Assessment Centre. Work with all the NHS employers, Ofsted, NHSE, Award Bodies, EPAOs

Have knowledge and experience in estates training responsible for provide a training function across all NHS Organisations within the NYNHSAC area and for devising ongoing training / development standards and programmes to meet those standards for the NHS nationally.



 

Main duties of the job

The main areas of work are:-

·       Recruit and train estates apprentices in the occupational areas of multi-skilled engineering, medical engineering, communication engineers, plumbers, carpentry/joiners, painters and decorators and information technology.

·       Staff development, identifying and providing training to existing staff within the regional NHS employers wishing to pursue NVQ qualifications by providing qualifications in assessor training, IQA, customer service and engineering flexibility / upskilling.

·       Psychometric testing can be provided to NHS employers at A and B level, in the areas of 16pf  personality tests.

·       NYNHSAC organises on behalf of the regional seminars to aid continuing professional development of operations staff

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

To manage all Assessment Centre staff and business by making decisions across a wide range of issues taking into account legislation, health and safety (particularly the additional requirements associated with young people), workforce strategy including recruitment, disciplinary action, staff development, dealing with complaints, workload allocation of employees, apprenticeship funding requirements including Ofsted, EPAO / award body requirements.     Management and training of estates apprentices employed by the various NHS Employer Organisations and based within NHS Organisations within the Region, including review of progress meetings, counselling / pastoral care and dealing with any problems of competency. To analyse and interpret estates workforce strategy information from NHS employers and use that information to develop a plans and business model for the Assessment Centre responsive to the needs of internal and external customers that is cost effective and of accredited quality.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Procurement or Customer Care

Experience
