You’ll work alongside experienced staff, learning the skills of the trade while studying towards a Level 2 qualification through a local further education college. The course is fully funded, and you’ll gain real work experience across a range of NHS buildings throughout Sussex.

Our sites span across Sussex, and we offer flexibility in your base location—this role can be based at one of several sites within the county.

Main duties of the job

Working under the guidance of qualified decorators, you’ll support a variety of decorating and maintenance tasks, including:

  • Surface preparation, painting and wallpapering

  • Minor plastering and surface repairs

  • Keeping workspaces clean, tidy, and safe

  • Recording work details and learning how to use digital systems (CAFM)

  • Assisting with maintenance checks and materials stock control

  • Attending college regularly and completing coursework and assessments

  • Following all safety guidelines and Trust policies

You’ll need to be willing to learn, take instruction, and work well as part of a team. Occasional weekend or shift work may be required.
