Job overview

Are you looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to work for an NHS Trust that is inclusive, vibrant and celebrates success? Would you like to work for an NHS organisation where the values of compassionate care, working together, achieving ambitions and delivering excellence drive everything we do.

We are looking for an NHS-experienced sonographer to join our team providing the Community Radiology service for Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust in East Sussex. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work autonomously, offering a service for general practitioners and visiting consultants.

SCFT support flexible working arrangements and we will work with you to ensure that you are able to balance your home and work commitments. In recruiting to this post we are pleased to be able to offer fulltime, part-time and  job share opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will rotate through our Community Hospitals across East Sussex (Uckfield, Lewes and Crowborough).

As a skilled Sonographer you will provide a caring, compassionate approach within our high quality imaging team. You need to be able to work independently, demonstrating a high level of competence (aligned to NHS pathways, NICE and BMUS guidelines) and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Candidates should be skilled in general abdominal and gynae scanning. Experience in small parts, lumps and bumps, and vascular scanning (DVT) would also be an advantage.

CPD is supported and the post holder will participate in regular peer review meetings and audit feedback. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your professional and clinical skills
